During this past weekend, I had the opportunity to attend the 69th Annual Convention of the Southern MD Volunteer Fireman’s Association. The convention this year was hosted by the Ridge VFD. On Friday, the Ladies Auxiliary (LA) to the Fireman’s Association had their meeting and installation of officers. Successful Training House Burn on Cherryfield Road

This house burn was originally scheduled for two weeks ago, but was postponed due to high winds. Today’s conditions were ideal for this type of training activity. The old house proved to be an excellent training structure, offering many successful burn scenarios before the interior of the structure became compromised. Mutual Aid Structure Fire

Lieutenant Fire Heather Bean, April 05

At approx. 6:30 AM on April 5, 2016 Company 6 was alerted for a working structure fire on Cedar Lane Ct in Leonardtown. Engine 61 responded with 6 personnel. Once on scene 61 was directed by command to layout and pick-up a secondary hydrant. Crews then stretched an 1¾" attack line into the exposure building checking for any extension. Fatal Motor Vehicle Accident

On April 4 @ 1:36 AM Crews from Company 6 were alerted for a serious MVA in the area of the Second District Firehouse. Chief 6A arrived on location with a vehicle overturned into a utility pole. Two vehicle accident in Callaway

EMT Michael Wilson, March 13

Saturday morning, March 12th, your Second District Volunteers were dispatched for a motor vehicle accident involving two passenger cars on Piney Point Road at 0830.

First arriving fire units arrived on the scene and reported no entrapment, but there were three injuries.

Lexington Park ambulance 397 requested Trooper 7 for a category A, priority 2 patient.
