Brush Fire in Drayden

On Friday, May 31 at approximately 14:47 Second District Volunteer Fire Department & Rescue Squad was alerted for a field fire on Christianna Way in Drayden. Brush 6 arrived and reported a 40'x40' field fire spreading rapidly. Chief 6B arrived shortly after and established the command as well as requested the Brush Fire Taskforce and Boat 4 for water supply operations. Chief 6 arrived and assumed Command. Units were able to get the fire under control and keep it from entering the woods as well as prevent loss of a tractor and bailer. Units completed mop up and returned to the station for clean up of equipment before returning units to service.
