For our opening weekend, we’re proud to spotlight the 2nd District Volunteer Fire Department, an organization that held a special place in Bubby’s heart. Bubby had a deep and enduring connection to the fire department, serving as both a past member and a board member. His involvement was a family tradition, working alongside close friends and relatives, including his cousin, Fuzzy Knott. One of Bubby’s proudest accomplishments was playing a key role in the construction of the new 2nd District Firehouse. From the initial planning stages to the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Bubby was a constant presence on the job site, dedicating his time and energy to the project’s success.
