The Second District Volunteer Fire Department & Rescue Squad is proud to announce the following awards and accomplishments at the Southern Maryland Volunteer Fireman's Association Convention & Parade on April 26/27 in Leonardtown.

Our Fire Prevention and Public Education Program won 2nd Place in the Class IV Division.

2nd Best Appearing Rescue Boat in the Association
2nd Best Appearing Special Unit in the Association
1st Place - Extrication Challenge (5:19 minutes, 0 penalties) (Dylan Walker, Cody Henderson, Jake Walker, Dylan Henderson, Darrick Henderson)
1st Place - Bucket Brigade (Cody Henderson, Darrick Henderson, Paul Hewitt, Brodey Stauffer, Owen Norris)
1st Place - Tug of War (Brian Stauffer, Ricky Poston, Rob Dent, Paul Hewitt, Andrew Scrivener, Owen Norris)

We would like to thank all of the members who dedicated many hours to preparation and work that goes into this event. We are proud of our units and members who showed great dedication, skills, strength, and teamwork throughout the events today.
