On August 13th at 1926 hrs., the SDVFD&RS was alerted to a serious motor vehicle accident at 20370 Flat Iron Road near Great Mills. Chief 6A (Henderson) arrived on the scene and established the Flat Iron Command, advising a single vehicle into a tree. After surveying the scene Command advised Saint Mary's that there was no entrapment, but requested the helicopter for transport of 1 patient. Engine 61 arrived on location with Captain 6A (Windsor) and the crew assisted loading the patient on Ambulance 69 (EMT Gardner) for transport to the landing zone located on Flat Iron Farm. Additional units assisting on the scene were Squad 6, Ambulance 398, and Medic 4. Engine 63 (FF Peabody) handled the landing zone for the helicopter. MSP Trooper 7 transported the patient to a local Trauma Center.
