On April 16, 2025, members of the Second District Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad participated in a training session to sharpen their vehicle extrication skills using the newest and most advanced Hurst extrication tools.

The members and guests of the Second District Volunteer Fire Department & Rescue Squad and the Auxiliary celebrated their 74th Anniversary and Installation of Officers on Saturday, February 1, 2025.

For this Throwback Thursday, we’re taking it back to a historic fire that destroyed a landmark in the Leonardtown community!
On June 8, 1956, the St. Mary’s Hotel, a very popular destination for lodging in Leonardtown, Md. erupted in flames just before 4am!
