Shotgun Raffle Winner

The Second District VFD&RS would like to thank all of our citizens and members who purchased raffle tickets for our Shotgun Raffle. Many thanks are also extended to those members who worked so hard to organize and sell those tickets. The raffle brought in $2,600.00 for the New Building Fund.

Fire Captain Ben Windsor, March 23

On Friday, March 20, 2020 at 1328 hrs., the SDVFD&RS was alerted for an outside fire at 17558 Piney Point Road in Piney Point. The fire apparently started from a controlled burning in the area. Within minutes Brush 6 with Captain 6 (D. Walker), Tanker 63 with Chief 6A (Henderson), and Engine 61 with Captain 6A (Windsor) responded. On Sunday, 2-23-2020 at 0234 hrs., the SDVFD&RS, Bay District VFD, Lexington Park VRS, and SMC Advanced Life Support were dispatched for the report of a serious motor vehicle accident in the vicinity of 19475 Piney Point Road, Valley Lee, with subjects trapped.

On Sunday, May 19th, 2019, the sun rose on a gorgeous, but warm day, for the Second District Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad’s Fire & EMS Open House. The Open House, which coincided with the beginning of EMS Week, was a Community event designed to “put a face” on Co. 6 in Valley Lee and we were thrilled to welcome almost 200 people.
